{Kitten sstaggers into blog, drops packages and falls down onto velvet cushion in a state of heat exhaustion} I'm serious contemplating having my pretty mane cute! It's so bloody hot and today is going to be 104! {Cries} I like warm weather but I draw the line when we get into triple digits, Mother Nature. Turn down the heat this instant! We can't take it any more.
Yesterday, I finished up my back to school shopping. I'm stocked back up on supplies and clothes for the new school year. I love back to school shopping. It's so much fun. You get to spend hours upon hours dragging everyone around in the heat searching for the perfect purse and jeans lol. {Yes, I mean. I know ;)
But no, I think I am all set for the new school year. I'm happy that I'm commuting this year and I think it will be a fun experience. At least I won't be stuck in a dorm all the time.
Lil Sis, her paramour, and I are going out later this afternoon! I haven't gottent to see Lil Sis very much and we have such little time left. We'll probably go to the usual places, Books A Million and PetLand. Most likely that is all we'll have time for.
I have been thinking about getting a Beta fish to keep me company in my study room while I'm working away. I shall name him Lord Byron. Lil Kitten had a Beta named Leonardo DeVinci put her cat ate him! Poor DeVinci, he died so young!

Book Reviews
Wow July is almost over and August will be here soon. I'll get to start Christmas shopping soon!!!! I like to get that out of the way early so I can just kick back and just enjoy the holiday and not worry about fighting the traffic. Anyway...I said that I would do a book review and I was going to do one about I book I finished a few weeks ago but I have to go on an rant about an one I just bought so...
Diana Palmer used to be one of my favorite romance writers ever since I was 14. I lived in Paper Rose, Lord of the Desert, Once in Paris, and Desperado not to mention her Soldier of Fortune series.. They were all good and unique however, many of her recent books have been repetious. I was so excited when Meciless came out because I was hoping that this one would be better, would be unique but I'm 150pages into it and its the same old same old. If this was the first book you'd ever have read from her, you might like it because the action parts are good but the romance part is the same as several other books. I feel like I am reading Outsider, another one of her's, but with different characters. Also, and maybe it is just me, but her characters here lately have been rather droll and too passive. In early stories, her characters had so much more spunk. Oh, well, she is starting a new series set in Wyoming but if its just about cowboys I don't think I'll bother but I will at least read the first book to see if its any good.
Back to the book I was orginally going to blog about. I finally finished War Dogs. I believe I mentioned the book back in January when I first about it but it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I finished it. Al Venter is a great writer. His books are vivid, humorous, at times, and serious at other times. It was nice having all the pictures so you could a face with the name. The book is about mercenaries and their role in today's world. He did have to go back to some history about different things but it was interesting none the less. I liked his argument that mercs and PMC are essential to countries now a days and that they can be a very valuable asset. It was a very long book, with around 500 pages however, definetly worth the read. I started another book where he tells about his exploits as a journalist. In November, his book about Neal Ellis comes out and I'm very excited about it because, I found him to be quite a fascinating character.
Well, there's two book reviews. I'm so behind and I just realized I haven't posted any music for a while and I haven't had much time look for new forgien artist so I'll put one up by one of my favorite American ones.

It's Been Forever
Wow, its been months since I've posted anything! I have been such a busy kitten of late with classes, and books and these silly computers problems that plague me all the time. I truly am cursed. Recently, I have been having so difficulities with my laptop and I took it in the shop to get ( yes, I have a computer macanic) and he told me that my hard drive was corrupted. What! How does one corrupt a hard drive anyway? I haven't been looking at anything naughty, so how could it become corrupt ; ) Then, to add insult to injury, my battery up and died on me. So I picked up my computer from the shop yesterday but it wasn't completely put back together. The hard drive has been cleaned or something like that, but I am running on no battery. As long as it's plugged in, I'm good. If I unplug it for any reason it shuts down. I was doing transcription last night and my father had me three revisions. That's not so bad right? Well, it is when, every time I took it off the charger it shut down and took 3 to 4 minutes booting up each time. It took 45 minutes to get the bloody papers ready :(
As far as class gone, I seem to be moving along well enough. Sociology, which I took for Summer 1, was interesting and very interactive. I really liked the professor and I passed the class with an A which is always a plus. Now, I'm taking Advanced Exposity Writing. Sounds icky right? Well it's not as bad as it sounds but I am flustrated. This class is pretty much the same class I took when I was at Saint Mary's! It's actually easier then the other.
As usually, Lil Sis and I haven't been able to go out and do as much as we would have liked. Originally, we had planned to go to Turkey Run and go canoing and hiking. Swiming and a trip to the Botanical gardens were also on the agenda. I had even hoped we could get to Chicago to see the muesem. Alas, between my classes, and learning how to do medical coding, and keeping up with the filing at the offices, I don't have much time :( Fall term will be starting in 4 weeks but that still gives a while. I know we won't be able to make the Gardens and Chicago, the rest of the list is still do able : )
Here lately, it has been dreadly hot and Kitten is very dissatified and Lil Kitten is very very dissatisfied. To me the perfect temp is in the mid to high 70's. Yesterday was 104!!!!!!! Ugh, I don't believe we have a reprieve insight for sometime.
I have been reading alot and have several book reviews to do and this time I shall post them. Maybe I shall post one tonight.
Kitten is so tired, maybe a little cat nap and then work...
